Why are we fascinated by new things or by new combinations of the old ones? Curiosity killed the cat (and threw Eve and Adam out of Paradise) but it is the real key for knowledge.
Like toddlers who are thriving into space by a colored object, like astronauts who gather courage to leave safe land and embark into the big darkness, humans always have and always will be stimulated by the unknown.
