Any traveler arriving in Oslo by plane will see a bright green field (in summer, of course). Splattered here and there, the farms stand out because of the brick tone of their wooden walls. Definitely, everyone who has had this experience will always agree that it is an adorable sight. That is what I thought, when looking out of the window.<\/p>\n
After visiting the capital for two days, I took a train to Eina station that took me through winding landscapes, mirrored lakes and blue skies. In Eina, Elsa Triquet awaited me. She is an energetic French girl who drove me to Einawood, where everything was about to start.<\/p>\n
Einawood is a land of several hectares on the shores of the lake that gives it its name, and it constitutes a cardinal point in the historical past of the nation for its active involvement in World War II.<\/p>\n
Two houses with galleries, a shed and a majestic barn with brick-tone on it, of course, host the magic that every summer, for four years, the International Film Festival Riff and Residency Eina Danz (R.E.D.) \u00a0has been offering.<\/p>\n
All Eina is invited. Not only have many arrived from Oslo and its surroundings, but also from other parts of Norway and even from the rest of the world. Many, like me, have come to live these days of art and midnight sunsets.<\/p>\n
As my jetlag gradually wears off, I begin to perceive a special atmosphere. It emanates from the residents and their eclecticism as well as from the objects placed here and there, which gives the countryside a theatrical aspect. Among all this, the magic starts to work.<\/p>\n
This is only about walking under the warm sun and perceiving how the participants become characters, as if it were a fairy tale.<\/p>\n
To mention some of them, there is Justin Chirico, the painter of New York who left the big city for the tranquility of the southern hills of Norway. Justin always has a topic of conversation to gather people around him. And as in a living antiphrasis, there is the silent Hege Hediyeh among us, a sweet dancer with huge blue eyes and a smile of equal dimensions.<\/p>\n
And to top the eclectic group is Francesca Penzani, a great video artist who I met in Buenos Aires a few years ago, and who will be part of R.E.D. She will give a videodance workshop for the second consecutive year. I am happy with her wide smile and her hug that reinforces my confidence. I know that the days to come will be fantastic.<\/p>\n
Like them, some participants will arrive to live in the residence house that week, while others will come every day, attracted by the magic of Einawood.<\/p>\n
