is a poet, essayist, and artist. She has released 7 books (5 books of poetry, 2 books of esssays) and her 8:th book of essays is on the way the year of 2023. She is currently an assistant professor in Aestetics, Media and Storytelling at Skövde University, Sweden. She has a long history within the art world, both as artist and art critic and continuously has a special focus on Jewish history and identity in most of her works. She has received numerous grants över the years, from the City of Gothenburg, Svenska Akademien (Swedish academy), Katz Judiska Kulturfond and more. Right now, she focuses on an ongoing performative work documenting the Jewish diaspora through handwritten paper scrolls, “The Scrolls Project” which aims to tell the stories of Jewish lives today through the lens of community and individuals. In the fall of 2023, she will have her first larger exhibition with the Scrolls Project. You can hear Karin Brygger on national Swedish radio during the Jewish holidays when she holds literary inspired progressive services. The spring 2023 her first Screendance film Palabra (made with Sebastian Ruiz Bartilson and Isidro Adrian Zar) had its world premiere at Dancefilmfestivalen på Ringön in Sweden.
